MOVIETELEVISION - JEANNE BEKER - VIDEO PIRACY (1993)
The problem is the past governments let the place deteriorate just like Ontario Place. This is what a lack of investment and vision results in. I went here as a kid and little has changed in decades
Sad: We need practical museums. Sadder prediction: There'll be several condominium buildings on this site within 3 years.
It was a co-production with a British company. There were six episodes in all, although this was the only science fiction one. One of the others was a Sherlock Holmes adaptation. There was an accompanying textbook, with all of the scripts in them. I still have my copy. This film the only 16 mm print I own, I have fond memories in high school English classes back in 1982.
Thomas the train universe is weird.
Watch it buddy.
Back in the mid to late 70's, I went there so often, I had a collection of tickets. When I arrived for my next visit, I would look ahead to see what the "color of the day" was and I showed the appropriate ticket to gain entrance for free. I loved that place and I never got tired of seeing the same stuff over and over again.
I like the Chuck Mangione theme better.
Microwave ovens and biodome beer. Truly we live in da future.
That little bastard is probably still living in there!
it strange.. I found the original on UA-cam a few years ago and now there's only this, which I've never seen before
I love waching ads from the 70's and 80's for their charm and to soak in the things of that time.
It's okay...most of Toronto residents these days are too stupid to learn anything from the Science Center anyways...
Ah, I remember that dish at 11:10. That was in the old "communications" room. There was a parabolic mic on the second floor and you could go up there and point it at anyone in the room and listen to what they were saying. So much fun back in the day.
P.S....Does anyone remember seeing Rick Green from "The Frantics" (and the Red Green Show) doing the laser show in the 1970's? He worked there!
Ontario Cartoon Museum (Instead of Ontario Science Centre)
A heartbreaking thing to see. I literally grew up at the Science Centre...it defined my life in the 1970's in many ways, along with the planetarium. Still paid it a visit once in a while as a teen and then as an adult. Was there with my young nephew in 2019 and was sad to see that it had become a shadow of what it once was, most of the thoughtful exhibits were gone and replaced with busy-work for small children...the worst being the "take apart old electronics with a pair of scissors and hammers and hang the wreckage on the wall" exhibit. My nephew was utterly bored...when I was his age, you could not stop me, I would have run off into the many exhibits until closing time. Even the gift shop that had been there since the 1970's was gone! What's going to happen to the Emmet machines? Does the OSC still bring them out every christmas? Old Toronto is truly dead and gone now.
Very cool!
I spent most of the morning trying to think of a bigger jackass than Doug Ford. I can honestly say that I came up short.
Yayyy both versions of the egg (French and English) are available on UA-cam!
If you’re wondering what flight is this, this is the British airways flight 5390
In the actual title 😮💨
Brampton part 2..on its way...
It's been figured out. Don't just shut places down instantly before you let your "friends" take over the property. Better plan. Don't maintain it for a few years, and then just shrug and say OOPS. Ontario Place? OOPS. Science centre. OOPS again.
0:13 Ooooh! "solid state circuitry" in a VCR. I'm glad it didn't have vacuum tubes.
Toronto is losing it's history. From renaming Ryerson University and Dundas Square to destroying statues of the men who built this country and now the Science Center. In 10 years, we will be lucky to have 1 historic building left, thanks to evil, woke anti-White liberals.
For decades I have been trying to remember more about this creepy movie. I only remember a few scenes and have been trying to find any clue as to what it was since I saw it in the 70's. Just saw the video show up today and this was it. I remember it being disturbing and yep, it's just like I remember...
Hmmmm....bring a neandrethal to the present timeline and send him back along with someone/something from the present? Sounds like the butterfly effect could be upon them all. This was actually not bad.
Ford's legacy!

Why spend the $350M needed to repair and upgrade he OSC when you can waste $1.2B in tax dollars to break the beer store contract one year early just to get beer (which will be significantly more expensive) into corner stores instead of waiting that 1 year when you could do it FOR FREE?
My Right Ear Liked This Video.
I was born in 76 so I guess I just missed seeing this in school....I remember Guy Big but I'd never seen this one. Didn't expect to tear up 😂 I feel a little silly. 🥸
I have been to a few Shoppers Drug Mart's that still sell this wonderful drink up in Hamilto, Ont :-) Also a few other places I have walked into.
I wonder how many condos units they’ll build on that spot
My wife and I both burst into tears the first time Timmy called the nurse "mama" 😭 OMG ❤💔
Zach D film😅
A place where everything interesting was fun. You’re telling me I was learning? Farewell to the educational ShowBiz Pizza Place.
Watched these guys perform this live in Hamilton today it was great!
A classic moment from tv past! I believe I saw this in school as well. A great stiry, and great acting. That synth score is haunting.
Classic
Save the Science Centre
I love this content, so nostalgic yet so depressing at the same time. The world has changed so much...sad to know it'll never go back. Ah well, every generation goes through the same hurdles, I guess...right? It is what it is. I'll just come here and remember the good times :)
WOWWWWWWW... took me right back to the first time watching this (1980 or so) after reading the short story as a teenager. Thanks For These Memories 👍🏾🙏🏾👊🏾
OHHHH my family and I used to go here ALL the time. I loved this placed and then suddenly it was gone...I'm from St. Catharines. Every time I drive by the Subway, I remember where TCBY used to be...R.I.P.
I had sex in the science center I went to a rave at the science center I delivered Amazon packages to the science center I was fascinated by the science center R.I.P Thanks for the memories
Wow, this is a first for me. Never heard of this at all...then again I was born in 81 so. I love this stuff though - such a different time. Thanks for posting it.
Ontario Science Centre still has that oddly-futuristic look to it
This is shameful. No money to have public educational venues like this or the Planetarium. It costs money to have infrascruture and to maintain it! Cut the bureaucracy and politicians' salaries!
0:21 and the bay is still using this POS system
pos = Point of Sale
OMG I remember this when I was a kid close to 50 years ago!! We watched it at my elementary school. Wow this is amazing!
